Documents add proposed routes for independent model development
A new pathway proposes independently authorized development or explicit contractual permission for ChatGPT-assisted model development. The specification adds a proposed requirement to record authorization before using externally generated material.
Two proposed development routes
The pathway recommends independently authorized tools, model materials and contributions. It proposes negotiating explicit permission for continued ChatGPT assistance in competing-model development. The document grants no permission or clearance.
Authorization evidence
The specification proposes recording permission evidence for externally generated design, code, labels, evaluations and feedback before model-development use. Earlier chats and the specification receive no automatic clearance. Independently sourced replacements also need review.
Review of earlier assistance
The pathway proposes preserving original inputs and separating them from generated contributions and third-party material. It calls for assessing actual use, dependencies and intended purposes. Human editing alone does not establish independence.
Proposed Nemotron approach
The pathway proposes an independently licensed Nemotron download or a provider contract that supports the intended development. It retains the unresolved no-Qwen requirement. It limits proposed content rewards to enrolled contributions without claiming authorization or compensation for all historical training material.
